The Education for Life Program (E4L)

E4L- The Down Syndrome association of Houston nurtures lifelong learning in adults with Down syndrome through the Education for Life program.  Our adult program offers instruction, training, and coaching in the areas of basic living, community participation, home skills, academic skills, and pre-vocational skills. In addition, behavior modeling , instruction, and coaching are provided to address problematic behaviors that prevent and inhibit individual success and performance. Our program is scheduled 5 days a week, from 8AM to 6PM. We contract with HCS and TxHml Medicaid Waiver providers, and private pay.

Criteria for Admission

  • Applicants must have a diagnosis of Down syndrome or similar condition
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and/or graduated from high school
  • Applicant must be able to follow basic directions, free of behavior problems, and independent toileting skills
  • Applicant must be an active member of DSAH with up-to-date membership
