Kathleen Doveno - Director of Events and Marketing

Kathleen comes to us after working for 15 years at HEB working as a Community Coordinator and a variety of other positions. She also worked for 4 years with Cox Media Group, on the promotions team. She has a B.A. degree from the University of Houston in Communications, her focus being on Public Relations. James, Kathleen’s brother in law, is responsible for her passion for educating and helping individuals with Down syndrome. Kathleen and her husband Thomas have 2 furbabies and love just spending family time together. Kathleen also loves to volunteer with the Houston Rodeo, she has been on the Directions and Assistance Committee for 6 years. She likes to live by the quote “Strong people stand up for themselves, Stronger people stand up for others.”— Chris Gardner

Tracy Martinez - Office Manager

Tracy Martinez is a hard working mother of a 2-year-old boy. Tracy has always had a passion for helping others and always things of others before herself. Making the world a kinder place as her life’s work brings her accomplishment and joy.

Tracy started working with Down Syndrome Association of Houston a few years after her nephew was born with Down syndrome. He continues to be a huge part in why she strives to help other get the information they need to navigate life.

Marissa Glass - Co-Head Coach - Education for Life

My name is Marissa Glass. I completed my undergraduate degree at Stephen F. Austin State University in Health Sciences. I used my Health Science degree at a small municipality teaching their community about environmental health (storm water, recycling, litter abatement, etc.) and providing volunteer service opportunities to the community. I learned quickly that I am service oriented and that my main life goal is to serve my community to the best of my abilities. This brought me to pursue my graduate degree in social work at the University of Texas at Arlington. I am at DSAH because I love to learn and serve. I am so excited to see how I can serve and facilitate the Education for Life curriculum to the adult participants at DSAH. Outside of work I like to explore Houston and all the outdoor activities (and food) it has to offer!

Shalom Miranda - Coach - Education for Life

Shalom is currently a student at the University of Houston and majoring in Bilingual Elementary Education. In her free time, she loves to volunteer at her church with the youth, play the cello, and annoy her 3 cats back at home. Her passion in life has always been to serve others and to work with and around people to help them meet their needs. Her favorite part about working at DSAH is that she gets to do that every day and still manage to have a lot of fun with the best people in the world!

Krystal Medders - Coach - Education for Life

Krystal has a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Houston Baptist University and is currently pursuing her nursing degree. Krystal is passionate about the arts and loves coming to work at DSAH each and every day.

Martin Meredith - Bookkeeper

Martin was born & raised in the UK and spent a 40-year career in finance working for McDermott International. After international assignments in the UK, Belgium, USA, France, UAE & Azerbaijan, Martin retired in Houston in 2015. He joined the DSAH Board as Treasurer at the beginning of 2019 and has volunteered as book-keeper since February 2017.

When he is not working at the Resource Center, Martin can be found playing golf, or hanging out with his 3 grandkids.
