The Down Syndrome Clinic of Houston is in need of qualified volunteers.
Volunteer Job Description:
*Greet families as they arrive in clinic.
*Provide emotional and informational support to families, sharing personal experiences with raising a child with Down
syndrome as appropriate.
*Provide information about the Down Syndrome Association of Houston and facilitate membership applications
*Manage and orient families to Down syndrome resource library
Availability: Monday mornings, 8am - 12pm.
Prior to beginning work, all volunteers will be required to complete a Texas Children's Hospital orientation (12:30 -
2:30pm on a Saturday, future orientation dates TBA), an interview with a volunteer coordinator, a health screen and a TB test.
A background check will also be conducted.
